Claims that are Made to Justify the Opinion that Obama was the Most Anti Christian President.
First, this allegation is made without an comparative information about other US Presidents. Second, I have answered each of Conservative activist David Horowitz’s eight itemized accusations with some factual evidence that invalidates the majority of the claims. He himself could have ferreted out these details. Nothing is gained by these crazy claims. But Horowitz managed to sell another book with this diatribe. Dark Agenda. No one should share either liberal or conservative activist exaggerations without first examining them and validating them.
1. Which American president changed the White House Christmas cards from being about Christmas or faith to cards featuring the family dogs and similar non-Christmas related subjects?
Changed from cards about Christmas or faith …? Are you kidding me? Have you ever sent a Christmas card featuring a family photo, your house, a poinsettia, a Christmas tree? If a sitting president uses a non-Christian theme does this warrant the tag America’s most Anti-Christian president? At this site you will find sample Christmas cards from every president from Calvin Coolidge to George W. Bush and guess what? Almost without exception they were devoid of a Christian sentiment. Guess why? He is president of all the people. https://www.businessinsider.com/white-house-christmas-cards-through-the-years-2015-12 - barack-obama-2015-65
2. Which president decorated the White House Christmas tree with ornaments that included figures such as Mao Zedong and a drag queen?
White House Christmas Tree Ornaments …? It shouldn’t astound you to learn that White House seasonal decoration is overseen by a contracted Professional designer and that hire is not associated with the Oval Office. The ornament in question was the artistic rendering of famed Andy Warhol’s Mao Zedong dressed in Marilyn Monroe’s makeup and was one of 800 ornaments on the large tree, all of which were from previous administrations. https://www.thedailybeast.com/fury-over-warhol-white-house-ornament
3. Which president excluded pro-life groups from attending a White House-sponsored health care summit?
Abortion … No debate on this point. Obama and his administration were pro-abortion and early in his first term (2009) health care reform was a priority for him, and Planned Parenthood was invited to the specific Health Care Summit but pro-lifers were not. It is entirely appropriate for you to express your opposition to Obama’s support of abortion clinics and stem cell research.
4. Which president nominated three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican?
USA Ambassador nominations rejected by the Vatican – The Obama Administration had a wakeup call when the American Catholic Church was openly critical of three choices (not formally nominated) each of whom was pro-abortion. The Vatican expressed its opposition as well but did not formally reject them because they were never formally nominated. https://www.lifenews.com/2009/03/05/nat-4888/
5. Which president speaking at Georgetown University ordered a monogram symbolizing Jesus’ name covered while he was delivering his speech?
President ordered a monogram covered …? Catholic and Jesuit Georgetown University honored the White House staff’s request to have a simple backdrop of flags and pipe and drape consistent with what was done for other policy speeches. All of the Georgetown University signage and symbols behind Gaston Hall stage were covered. One of those symbols was the monogram "IHS" – a symbol for Jesus – that appeared behind the podium.
6. Which president made a practice of deliberately omitting the phrase about “the Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence?
A Practice of Deliberately Omitting… ? yes Obama did paraphrase the statement on the occasion mentioned. However, counter to the claim that he made a practice of doing this, here is a short video compilation demonstrating multiple instances of President Obama quoting the “endowed by their Creator” line. You can hear him say it yourself. https://youtu.be/esRo542PJ0E
7. Which president opposed the inclusion of President Franklin Roosevelt’s famous D-Day Prayer in the WWII Memorial?
D-Day Prayer …? It is inaccurate to maintain that President Obama “killed” the bill called HR 2070 proposed by Rep. Bill Johnson of Ohio. The bill proposed that a suitable plaque containing the prayer be placed in the area of the WWII Memorial. The bill was not voted upon by either House or Congress for a long time, much less passed by both and sent to the president for signature (or veto). In fact ultimately, the bill was passed by the House but stalled in the Senate and was never brought to a vote in the latter body. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/d-day-prayer/
8. Which presidential administration announced that it would forgive student loans in exchange for public service, but that it would no longer forgive student loans if the public service was related to religion?
In 2007 (a year before Obama’s first term) The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program was created by the U.S. government under the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 (CCRAA) to provide indebted professionals a way out of their federal student loan debt burden by working full-time in public service. That’s the point here. public student loans were given to students who would agree to work in governmental public service, and that excludes religious service. (separation of church and state). Private student loans are ineligible of course because they do not relate to this program. And here’s another point. The earliest time in which borrowers could receive forgiveness under the program was after October 1, 2017 (the year after Obama concluded).
It's so easy to twist statements and evejts and timelines to make a person look bad, isn't it? Thank you for this.
