Between Christ’s birth and death, Jesus lived a relatively brief but momentous series of days during which he displayed God’s kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. His was a life marked by godlikeness, understanding, purity, wisdom, compassion, conviction, holiness and the miraculous.
To this new way of living Jesus called twelve men who watched him intently and then were commanded and empowered by him to propagate his gospel, making disciples of all who trusted their message concerning Christ and who would not just manage their sin by receiving forgiveness, but also allow Christ to live in them through the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit.
Following Jesus is more than a ticket to ride to heaven. It is a spiritual transformation to a life marked by everything Christlike, from godliness to the miraculous. Then there is graduation.
